A problem

I have just thought of what are the steps that would need to create such a natural city which i was dreaming of and have come with the following points. 1. Buy Land 2. Provide access to water 3. Make the land fertile 4. Give the land for lease for farming 5. Build roads with the lease income 6. Collect tolls on the road 7. Build a police station to be run by government to maintain law 8. Build a multi story apartment depending on the needs. 9. Build sewage system 10. Segregate areas according to the needs 11. Provide a religious establishment To be started and then to be given on lease later 1. Provide entertainment 2. Provide health services 3. Build a school Manage development But there is a problem with the plan, affluent people wish to acquire assets which will not be available at my city so the popularity of the city might be affected. Wanted to uncover more and more problems and see how it looks like

La Nina strengthening

La Nina is strengthening after several years, normally El Nino has been more regular recently in the past two decades. What this means to us. The surface ocean temperatures in the western pacific (Australia, Indonesia, India etc) will be higher than normal which releases more vapour into the atmosphere which causes more precipitation (more rains), and also possibility of floods depending on the strength of the LaNina phenomenon.Full article

El Niño La Niña

"During a typical El Niño, the Asian monsoon usually weakens and is pushed towards equator, often bringing summer drought to north-west and central regions of India and heavy rainfall in the north-east" Article Now what is El Niño - It is a phenomenon where the temperature of the surface water at the western end of pacific ocean near Peru, equador(south America) gets warmer and at the eastern end of pacific ocean near Indonesia, Australia gets colder than usual. During El Niño the ocean water level at the western pacific ocean will be higher by around 60cm than at the eastern pacific so the warmer water gets accumulated at the western pacific ocean. The evaporated water due to warmer temperatures will get cooled and heavy rainfall results in floods in south america. Similarly the opposite phenomenon occurs at the eastern pacific resulting in drought's in Australia and indonesia. This is a global phenomenon and occurs every 2 to 7 years. La Niña is the opposite phenomenon of El Niño. Recent El Niños occured during 1986-1987, 1991-1992, 1993, 1994, 1997-1998, 2002-2003, and 2006-2007 although with different levels of severity.

Why start this blog

Why start this blog? I had a dream(Dont worry - i dream often) to build a city. Since the origin of the thought, i used to think about how i could build that city. Over time i came to know that building a concrete jungle is not what i want but something like buy a huge tract of barren land and facilitate development in that area i.e. watch and facilitate the development of a natural city. Facilitating development would require providing conditions and reasons for people to live in that place. And i think the most basic and important things that i should know for doing this are climatology(most of the natural big cities are developed on mountaineous regions where rainfall levels are high), soil(most of the natural big cities have huge tracts of fertile land around them) and evolutionary biology(provides hints on how people get to flourish in a place). Finally this blog my is experiment to look for reasons on the feasibilty of such a thing called building a natural city and learn few things about climatology, soil and evolutionary biology.
